On February 16, the European Commission announced the initiation of an antidumping investigation into imports from China of non-alloy steel wire and steel stranded wire, which are mainly used in the construction industry.

Meanwhile, the machinery manufacturing industry and other steel-consuming industries in Europe have expressed strong objections to the restriction of Chinese steel product imports.

The AD investigation in question is expected to be completed within 12 months (15 months at the most). Before determining whether the subject merchandise is being dumped or not, the European Commission may adopt provisional antidumping measures.
