Essar to build steel plant in Trinidad & Tobago

Indian steelmaker Essar Group announced plans to build a $1.2 billion-steel plant in Trinidad & Tobago. The project covers establishment of 2 million-ton capacity steel plant. The construction of the plant is scheduled to begin in December 2005. The investment marks the second Indian steel sector investment in Trinidad & Tobago. The first was made by Ispat Group.
