Essar Steel to expand production capacity

Indian steel producer Essar Steel plans to expand its production capacity with an investment of Rupees 7 billion ($160 million). In line with the expansion plan, Essar Steel's production capacity, which is currently 2.4 million tons, will be increased to 3.6 million tons. The company officials stated that they plan to increase capacity in order to meet surging steel demand. Moreover it is stated that the company plans to increase its power production capacity from 515 MW to 1500 MW.
