Erenco to build steel plant in Turkmenistan

Erenco, the consultancy arm of Turkey's integrated steel plant Erdemir Group, together with Sehil Construction Industry will build an iron and steel plant in Turkmenistan. The steel plant, Turkmenistan's first, will be designed to produce 160'000 tons annually. The Turkmenistani government plans to invest around $65 million in the project. The construction of the plant is scheduled to begin in August 2005 and is expected to be completed by February 2007.
