ENRC posts strong output figures for 2012

Kazakhstan-based mining group Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation Plc. (ENRC) has announced its operational results for the fourth quarter and the full year 2012.

The miner registered a ferroalloy output of 392,000 mt in the fourth quarter last year, increasing by 8.9 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, but rising by 2.9 percent quarter on quarter. In the given quarter, the company's iron ore pellet output increased 11.7 percent year on year and by 13.4 percent quarter on quarter to 1.83 million mt.

In 2012, ENRC produced 1.52 million mt of ferroalloys, up 1.7 percent compared to the previous year. In the same period, the company's iron ore pellet output declined 6.6 percent year on year to 7.14 million mt.

According to ENRC, in 2012 the company achieved the highest annual production volumes since the initial public offering for saleable ferroalloys, electricity and coal. The iron ore division overcame recent technological issues to deliver its best quarter in 2.5 years in terms of saleable product.
