EMZ reports rise in production in June
The group of enterprises EMZ, which include Ukrainian steelmaker Enakievsk MZ and joined Ukrainian-Swiss company Metalen, in June 2006 produced 187,303 tons of pig iron, up 18.9 percent, 218,109 tons of crude steel, up 22.7 percent, and 187,587 tons of billets, up 23.1 percent compared to June 2005. During the same period, EMZ dispatch of finished steel products rose 21.3 percent to 210,341 tons. In January-June of 2006, EMZ produced 1.093 million tons of pig iron, up 17.6 percent, 1.27 million tons of crude steel, up 18.2 percent, 1.12 million tons of billets, up 25.3 percent and dispatched 1.043 million tons of finished steel products, up 18.2 percent from the first six months of 2005.
