Echeng Steel’s BF No. 4 produces 334,000 mt of pig iron in Jan-Apr

According to major Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Group (WISCO), its subsidiary Echeng Iron and Steel Co. produced 334,000 mt of pig iron in the January-April period of the current year, 20,000 mt more than the targeted volume. The average production cost for pig iron during the given period was RMB 2,820/mt ($447.38/mt), hitting an all-time high.
