Dongkuk Steel reduces plate prices

Dollar's depreciation against Won and the drop in raw material prices pushed South Korea's third largest steelmaker Dongkuk Steel to lower its sales price for plates. The company announced Won 20,000/mt ($21) price decrease for its steel plates. The new price for shipbuilding plates decreased to Won 615,000/mt ($634) from the previous Won 635,000/mt ($655). On December 27, when the company had announced Won 50 per metric ton price decline, Won 635,000 was equal to $626.
