Dongbu Special Steel installs three new wire drawing machines

South Korean steelmaker Dongbu Special Steel has finished the installation three new wire drawing machines at its Pohang Works and plans to start them up within the current month.

The three new drawing machines are capable of drawing an annual total of 25,000 metric tons of wire with diameter in a range of 4-15 mm.

With the new machines, Dongbu Special Steel will operate a total of 20 wire drawing machines, including one that can draw wire with extra large diameters of a maximum of 52 mm, and will raise its total annual wire drawing capacity from 195,000 metric tons to 220,000 metric tons.
