Dong Fang Shipbuilding starts to build large-scale shipyard

On December 3, China's Dong Fang Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. started the construction of a large-scale shipbuilding base in Zongyang County, Anhui Province.

For its new shipbuilding base located on the northern bank of the Yangtze River, Dong Fang Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. plans to construct two 50,000-mt building berths, eight 25,000-mt standard building berths, a parts workshop, a coating workshop, and other facilities. With a total investment of $147 million, the base is expected to reach a shipbuilding capacity of more than 300,000 mt.
