DOC annuls AD review on certain flat products from Japan

On August 19, 1993, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) imposed an antidumping duty order on corrosion-resistant carbon steel flat products imported from Japan. Upon a petition filed by domestic steel producer Nucor Corporation, the DOC, on September 22, 2004, initiated an antidumping duty administrative review on the subject product imported from Japanese steel producers Kawasaki Steel Corporation (and any alleged successor-in-interest, including JFE Steel Corporation) and Nippon Steel Corporation for the period August 1, 2003, through July 31, 2004. The DOC decided to annul the review since Nucor withdrew its request within 90 days of the initiation of the administrative review. The dumping deposit rates for Kawasaki and Nippon are 1.61% and 2.47%, respectively. The rate for all other Japanese producers is 36.41%.
