Decline continues in U.S. and Canadian steel service center shipments in October

According to the latest report from the Metals Service Center Institute, steel service center shipments declined from 2014 levels in October in the United States and Canada at faster rates than last month, while inventories declined for steel in the United States and Canada.
 
In October 2015, US service center steel shipments decreased by 14.0 percent from October 2014. Steel product inventories decreased 4.2 percent from October a year ago and decreased 3.0 percent from to last month.

Meanwhile, Canadian service center shipments of steel products decreased in October by 18.3 percent from October 2014. Steel product inventories decreased 12.3 percent from October a year ago.
