According to a press release, Danieli has been selected to provide products to Steel Dynamics Structural and Rail Division to produce added-value spooled coils in endless mode. Twist-free spooled coils add value to final products because they do not require uncoiling and recoiling operations before downstream processing.

SDI ordered a new billet welder and spooler line to be installed at its Columbia City, Indiana facility. The new equipment will be capable of processing 240,000 tons per year of rebar. Commissioning of the new line is expected in the last quarter of 2018.
