Russian pipe producing company United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has announced that Italian plantmaker Danieli will supply a new heat treatment line for quenching and tempering of pipes, a new pipe-threading line and a new quality control and finishing line for its subsidiary Vyksa Steel Works. The three lines are planned to be put into operation in 2018.

OMK stated that this investment project is being implemented within the framework of a comprehensive program of technical re-equipment and modernization of production of casing, tubing and gas pipes at Vyksa Steel Works. The new lines, which will be installed in the newly-built electric welding shop No. 1, will allow the plant to produce pipes for the domestic oil and gas industry.
