Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it has received the final acceptance certificate from Chinese steelmaker Angang for the revamping of its tandem cold rolling mill based on the successful results of tests.

The project consisted in the installation of a completely new six-high stand to replace the existing four-high stand to increase the final product’s thickness and shape accuracy. The equipment was delivered on site in June 2015, in keeping with the time schedule agreed with Angang.

Danieli said that the first coil was successfully rolled in August 2015 and, within a very short time of commissioning, the rolling mill reached normal production and by the end of October Angang had produced more than 200,000 mt of coils in total with better surface quality and better thickness accuracy.
