Daily finished steel output beats record in April

In particular, the average daily finished steel output record a new height. In April, China produced 32.451 million metric tons of pig iron, up 17.4 percent year on year, while the average daily output was 1.0867 million metric tons, up 32,000 metric tons or 3.05 percent month on month. The crude steel output in April is 33.7111 million metric tons, up 19 percent year on year with the average daily output at 1.1237 million metric tons, up 62,800 metric tons or 5.9 percent month on month. The finished steel output in April saw a year on year increase of 27.5 percent to 38.3114 million metric tons, and the average daily output at 1.274 million metric tons, up 51,100 metric tons or 4.17 percent from a month earlier. From the January-April cumulative output, the total volume of pig iron is up 20.10 percent to 122.7846 million metric tons, crude steel cumulative output is up 18 percent to 126.2406 million metric tons, and the finished steel cumulative output at 140.3070 million metric tons, up 24.20 percent from a year earlier. Broken down into the specific product categories, in April, rebar output is 6.4692 million metric tons, up 22 percent year on year, wire rod output is 5.7085 million metric tons, up 15.60 percent from a year earlier, medium plate output is up 19.8 percent to 1.8971 million metric tons, the output of medium wide and thick plate is up 19.4 percent year on year to 3.7213 million metric tons, the cold rolled sheet output is 1.0170 million metric tons, up 73.50 percent than last year, the output of cold rolled thin and wide plate is 1.0172 million metric tons, up 53.80 percent from a year earlier, hot rolled output is 331,000 metric tons, up 11.90 percent from a year earlier, the output of hot rolled thin and wide steel saw a year-on-year increase of 25.6 percent to 1.1445 million metric tons. From the April figures, the growth rate of output of light rail, cold rolled sheet, medium and small sized section bar, CR thin and wide coil, electric steel plate, seamless steel pipe, welded steel pipe, galvanized plate is at more than 30 percent, among which the growth rate of light rail, CR sheet, medium and small sized section bar and extremely heavy plate output increased 88.4 percent, 73.5 percent, 70 percent and 59 percent respectively.
