The Istanbul branch of South Korea's largest trading company Daewoo International Corporation has informed SteelOrbis that, following the antidumping duty order imposed by Turkey on stainless steel pipe imports from China and Taiwan, the company has decided to focus on importing stainless steel pipes to Turkey at the best possible prices in cooperation with South Korean producers.

An Istanbul branch official said that the company is entering the Turkish market with three South Korean producers and that they will supply stainless steel pipes for a wide range of industries.

In April 2012, the Turkish government initiated an antidumping (AD) duty investigation regarding stainless steel pipe imports from China and Taiwan upon a complaint filed by Turkish stainless pipe producer Borusan Paslanmaz Çelik Boru ve Profil San. ve Tic. A.Ş.. The investigation was concluded in March, with Turkey deciding to impose an antidumping duty order for the said products from the abovementioned countries. The investigation covered the period between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011.

Pursuant to the antidumping duty order, the antidumping duty rates for Taiwan stand at 7.98-14.65 percent, while the duty rates for China range between 13.82 percent and 25.27 percent.

The products subject to the antidumping duty order fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7306.40.20.90.00, 7306.40.80.90.00 and 7306.61.10.00.00.
