Turkish plantmaker CVS Makine has announced that it has supplied a new ladle furnace and vacuum facility for
Turkey-based Akdaş Döküm, one of
Europe's leading steel casting companies, with the new facility having been put into operation in the first quarter of the current year.
At the new facility with its 80 mt ladle furnace and vacuum mill, scrap melted in induction furnaces will be processed in the ladle furnace, while the processed liquid steel will be refined to the desired quality values in the vacuum mill. The new facility enables Akdaş Döküm to produce a 150-mt single piece casting, CVS Makine said.
According to CVS Makine's statement, the investment in the new ladle furnace and vacuum facility is very important for both the European and Turkish casting sector and will affect the future of the sector.
