CVRD to exceed 250 million tons in 2005

Brazilian iron ore behemoth Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) stated that their iron ore and pellet sales could well surpass 250 million metric tons in 2005. Due to an unbalance between actual demand and supply, CVRD said that it could likely add 20 mmt more to its 2005 figures after it tallies its final totals. Last year CVRD sold 231 mmt and figures are likely to go up, as they have in the past three years, as the company invests further into increasing production.
