CSC’s steel sales down 14.4 percent in April from March

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in April this year its carbon steel sales volume decreased by 14.4 percent to 868,369 metric tons compared to March, accounting for 65 percent of domestic sales. During the first four months of the current year, the company's carbon steel sales volume amounted to 3.57 million mt, accounting for 66 percent of domestic sales.
 
In April, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 27.88 billion ($927.04 million), decreasing by 13 percent month on month. In the given month, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 1.97 billion ($65.58 million), compared to an income before tax of NTD 2.16 billion in the previous month.
