CSC’s January steel output up 2.09 percent over December

On February 10, Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) announced that in January this year its steel production volume increased by 2.09 percent month on month, reaching 838,791 metric tons, while the year-on-year increase was 142.67 percent.

In January, CSC's sales volume amounted to 855,595 metric tons, increasing by 4.5 percent as compared to December 2009 and up 95.96 percent year on year. Of the company's total sales, 76.27 percent was shipped to the domestic market, while the remaining 23.73 percent was delivered to the export markets.

In the month in question, the steelmaker's sales revenues amounted to NTD 18.19 billion ($567.37 million), increasing by 1.66 percent month on month and up 79.48 percent year on year, while its income before tax totaled NTD 4.18 billion ($130.38 million).
