CSC sees significant increase in operating income in August

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in August this year its carbon steel sales volume decreased by three percent to 894,929 metric tons compared to July, accounting for 66 percent of domestic sales. During the first eight months of the current year, the company's carbon steel sales volume amounted to 6.39 million mt, accounting for 67 percent of domestic sales.
 
In July, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 22.63 billion ($696.5 million), down by five percent month on month. In the given month, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 602 million ($18.5 million), increasing by 856 percent compared to the previous month.
