CSC sees slight growth in May carbon steel sales

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in May this year its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 808,384 metric tons, registering a slight growth of 0.12 percent compared to April, accounting for 65 percent of domestic sales. In the first five months of the current year, the company sold 3.99 million mt of carbon steel, accounting for 64 percent of domestic sales.
 
In May, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 31.01 billion ($1.03 billion), rising 0.8 percent month on month. In the first five months, the operating revenues of the company totaled NTD 154.2 billion ($5.14 billion). In May, the company registered earnings before tax of NTD 2.2 billion ($73.3 million), increasing by 4.5 percent compared to April.
