CSC posts increase in carbon steel sales for October

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in October this year its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 853,598 metric tons, up 7.6 percent compared to September, accounting for 63 percent of domestic sales. In the first 10 months of the current year, the company sold 8 million mt of carbon steel, accounting for 65 percent of its domestic sales.
 
In October, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 29.7 billion ($1 billion), up 3.4 percent month on month. In the first nine months, the operating revenues of the company totaled NTD 290 billion ($9.8 billion). In October, the company registered earnings before tax of NTD 2.25 billion ($76 million), remaining almost flat compared to September.
