Crude steel output of key Chinese producers rises 21 percent in February

According to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics of China, in February, crude steel production of China's key steel enterprises totaled 41.5 million mt, up by 7.2748 million mt or 21.26 percent year on year, accounting for 82.41 percent of total domestic crude steel production. Meanwhile, the production of the key enterprises from in the January-February period reached 84.95 million mt, up 15.94 million mt or 23.09 percent year on year, accounting for 82.56 percent of the total national crude production.

The top ten steel mills for crude steel production in February were Hebei Iron and Steel Group, Baosteel, Wuhan Iron and Steel Group, Anben Iron and Steel Group, Shagang Group, Shougang Group, Shandong Iron and Steel Group, Hebei New Wuan Iron and Steel Group, Magang Group and Rizho Iron and Steel.

Pig iron production in February in China's key steel enterprises reached 39.35 million mt, up 6.75 million mt or 20.72 percent year on year, accounting for 82.84 percent of the total pig iron production in China. The production of the products in question in January and February combined totaled 80.6716 million mt, up 15.04 million mt or 22.92 percent year on year.

In February, the top ten steel mills for pig iron production were Hebei Iron and Steel Group, Baosteel, Wuhan Iron and Steel Group, Anben Iron and Steel Group, Shandong Iron and Steel, Shougang Group, Shagang Group, Rizhao Iron and Steel, Hunan Valin Steel Group and Hebei Jinxi Steel.

Finished steel production in February from China's key steel enterprises reached 38 million mt, up 6.7105 million mt or 21.45 percent year on year, accounting for 68.35 percent of total domestic finished steel production for the month. While finished steel production in the January-February period totaled 63.04 million mt, up 15.54 million mt or 24.65 percent year on year, accounting for 68.58 percent of the overall domestic production of finished steel.

In February, the top ten steel mills for finished steel production were Hebei Iron and Steel Group, Baosteel, Wuhan Iron and Steel, Anben Iron and Steel Group, Shagang Group, Shandong Iron and Steel, Shougang Group, Magang Group, Rizhao Iron and Steel and Hebei New Wuan Iron and Steel Group.
