CR/HR Q2 production overhaul summary - North China

Anshan Steel: The 1700 mill will cease production for one month due to the renovation and expansion of the No.1 heating furnace. About 200’000 tons of output will be affected. Benxi Steel: The CR production line will be overhauled beginning Apr 6th and will last about 7-8 days. About 28’000 tons of CR output will be affected. Taiyuan Steel: Repairs on the hot continuous rolling production line will be delayed until May and are scheduled to take 12 days. About 70’000 tons of HR output may be affected. The CR production line of Baotou Steel, Tangshan Steel and Handan Steel will become operational on Mar 25th, 26th and 28th respectively. All steel makers in the North China area will store about 10’000 tons of HR products for CR processing in April. At the same time, Tanghsn Steel’s common HR sheet output could dwindle by half if the company decides to produce a variety of steel in April.
