Cost of civil construction and rebar increase in Argentina in August

The cost of civil construction in the greater Buenos Aires area rose 4.6 percent in August, month-on-month, according to data released by the nation’s statistics agency, Indec.

The cost of civil construction materials in the period increased 1.9 percent, month-on-month, while the cost of workforce as well as general expenses rose by 6.5 and 3.5 percent, respectively.

Indec said the cost of rebar in August rose 13.9 percent, year-on-year, one of the highest increases in the cost of civil construction materials. 

According to Indec, the cost of civil construction in the greater Buenos Aires rose 23 percent in August, year-on-year. Materials, workforce and general expenses costs improved 22, 24 and 20.8 percent, year-on-year, respectively.
