UK-based steelmaker Corus has announced an increase of £80/mt in its price for reversing mill plate due to the robust global demand in all key plate-consuming market sectors.

The price change will apply to all newly booked UK deliveries of reversing mill plate shipped from August 3, 2008.

Commenting on the price rise, Martin Maley, Director, Commercial for Construction & Infrastructure at Corus Long Products, said, "This rise has come about because demand is so robust. It is also an opportunity for us to reflect in our UK prices where prices have got to elsewhere in the European Union."
