Colombian iron and steel exports down 17.2 percent in January-November

In the first 11 months of 2015, Colombia exported 117,023 mt of ferronickel, down 2.2 percent, with a value of $401.7 million, decreasing by 31.2 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In November last year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 10,775 mt, rising by 2.8 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $30.8 million, down 34.2 percent, both compared to November 2014.
 
In the first 11 months of last year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 175,559 mt, down 17.2 percent, with a value of $486.4 million, declining by 31.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In November this year, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 15,363 mt, decreasing by 23.7 percent, and were worth $36.9 million, down 38.5 percent, both compared to the same month of 2014.
