Colombian iron and steel exports down 11.5 percent in January-July

In the first seven months of the current year, Colombia exported 75,000 mt of ferronickel, down two percent, with a value of $175.56 million, decreasing by 39.4 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In July this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 5,410 mt, declining by 59.3 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $13.86 million, down 69.6 percent, both compared to June last year.
 
In the January-July period of this year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 100,858 mt, down 11.5 percent, with a value of $209.5 million, declining by 39 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In July this year, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 10,425 mt, decreasing by 45.7 percent, and were worth $19.5 million, down 63.2 percent, both compared to the same month of 2015.
