Colombian crude steel output declines 2.2 percent in May

Colombian crude steel output in May fell 2.2 percent, year-on-year, according to data released on Tuesday by the country’s committee of steel producers, CPA.
 
CPA said crude steel output in May totaled 104,810 mt, down from 107,106 mt in May 2016, and almost stable from 104,977 mt in April.
 
As for the accumulated period of January to May this year, Colombian crude steel production totaled 528,704 mt, slightly down 0.1 percent, year-on-year.
 
Long finished production in May diminished 0.9 percent, year-on-year, to 110,223 mt, and 5 percent, month-on-month. As for the January-May period, long finished production totaled 562,080 mt, 1.12 percent up, year-on-year.
