Coal from Beacon Hill’s Minas Moatize mine classified as hard coking coal

Australian resource company Beacon Hill Resources has stated that the coal from the Minas Moatize mine, located in the Tete region of Mozambique, has been classified as ‘hard coking coal', which is a premium type of coal that is currently traded at around US$275/mt.

Beacon Hill plans to produce 900,000 mt of this hard coking coal a year from Minas Moatize, corresponding to revenue of approximately US$290 million.

Beacon Hill stated that they are currently producing thermal coal and the first washed coking coal is planned to be produced from the Minas Moatize mine next year.
