CNPC completes free transfer of PetroChina shares to Baosteel

China’s largest oil and gas producer PetroChina Company Limited (PetroChina), a subsidiary of China’s state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), has announced that its controlling shareholder CNPC has completed the registration of a free transfer of shares in PetroChina to major Chinese steelmaker Baosteel, with the registration being confirmed by a letter issued by China Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation Limited (CSDC). Accordingly, CNPC now holds 157,409,693,528 shares in PetroChina, while Baosteel holds 624 million PetroChina shares, accounting for 86.01 percent and 0.34 percent of the total equity in PetroChina, respectively.
