Civil construction activity remains weak in Brazil

The activity of the Brazilian civil construction segment has remained weak in June, reaching 37.5 points in a scale from zero to 100, in which values above 50 show growth.

According to information released by the nation’s confederation of industries, CNI, the activity level of the segment has reached 37.5 points in June, stable from 37.7 points in May, but well bellow the 44.5 points registered in June 2014.  CNI defined the situation of the nation’s civil construction industry as “adverse”, as the companies operating within the sector expect activity to decline in the next six months.

According to CNI, the segment’s satisfaction about the its operational profit margins in Q2 reached 32.7 points, down from 41.4 points a year ago.
