Iron ore prices in
China indicated downward movement in September, shifting from the slight rising trend recorded in August, as stated in a new report issued by the
China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) on October 10.
At the end of September this year, the
China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 204.36 points, down 1.89 points or 0.92 percent month on month. In particular, the domestic production
iron ore price index stood at 203.16 points, down 1.89 points or 0.92 percent month on month, while the import
iron ore price index stood at 204.70 points, declining by 1.89 points or 0.91 percent month on month.
For the whole month of September, the average
China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 207.67 points, up 3.21 points or 1.57 percent month on month. In particular, the average domestic production
iron ore price index was at 205.09 points, down 0.33 point or 0.16 percent, while the average import
iron ore price index stood at 208.40 points, up 4.20 points or 2.07 percent, both month on month.
