CISA mills' average daily crude steel output down sharply in late Aug

On September 10, the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) announced that in late August (August 21-31) this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China - all CISA members - totaled 1.6768 million mt, down 8.35 percent compared to mid-August (August 11-20). 

According to the CISA's previous figures, in mid-August this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China had amounted to 1.8295 million mt, up 0.53 percent from early August (August 1-10).

Meanwhile, as of August 31, 2014, overall inventory of the main finished steel products in the major steel markets in China totaled 14.2416 million mt, down 6.6 percent as compared to the figure recorded on August 20.
