CISA comments on S. Korea, Japan visits

Qi Xiangdong, the vice chairman of China Iron & Steel Association (CISA) commented on recent visits of a Chinese delegation to South Korea and Japan. Qi Xiandong stated that the Chinese, Japanese and South Korean steelmakers agreed on softening the trade tensions among the three countries on some certain issues. One of these issues is China's high amount of steel exports to South Korea, especially the rebar. Chinese representatives accepted South Korea's demand to limit China's rebar exports to South Korea. As another issue, Chinese representatives requested Japan to stop exporting 200-series stainless steel to China. CISA expects a visit from Japan's steel industry in July to improve the industry's energy efficiency.
