ChTPZ supplies LD pipes for Bovanenkovo-Ukhta pipeline

Russia-based steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group has stated that in the March-June period of the current year it will supply more than 45,000 mt of large diameter (LD) pipes, worth more than RUB 4 billion ($110.66 million), to Russian state gas monopoly Gazprom for the construction of the second branch of Bovanenkovo-Ukhta gas pipeline system.

The company will deliver pipes of 1,420 mm in diameter and of 23 mm and 27.7 mm in wall thickness ofsteel grade K65 (X80), with internal and external three-layered anti-rust coating and operating pressure of 11.8 MPa. The large diameter pipes will be manufactured at the workshop Vysota 239 of ChTPZ from steel plates from Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel and German-based Salzgitter under the control of third party inspection.

Specialists from Gazprom and Gazprom VNIIGAS certified ChTPZ's production of these pipes in August 2011. According to Gazprom, construction of the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta gas pipeline system will be completed by 2016.
