Russia-based steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group has stated that its 100 percent Quality Program with Russia-based leading global iron ore and hot briquetted iron (HBI) producer Metalloinvest has been very effective.
The 100 percent Quality Program has been successfully deployed as part of the cooperation between Ural Steel and ChTPZ Group. Ural Steel is Metalloinvest's integrated iron and steel plant and one of ChTPZ Group's strategic partners. Around a third of ChTPZ Group's total output, including double seam large diameter pipes, is produced from steel from Ural Steel.
‘When we started thinking about the program a few years ago, up to eight percent of our produce had defects of one sort or another. Things look completely different now, with deviations at under 0.01 percent. This means the system is working,' stated Metalloinvest Management Company home sales director Andrei Prosyanik.
Because all of the production and managerial processes became integrated, it only takes about three weeks to deliver a pipe product, from placing an order to shipping the goods.
The parties signed a new protocol to foster the development of the 100% Quality program.
The next meeting to discuss the cooperation of Metalloinvest and ChelPipe Group is scheduled for autumn 2015. It will take place at the Pervouralsky Novotrubniy plant.
