Russia-based steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group has announced that it has started modernization of its oil-grade products production facility, which will cost an investment of RUB 200 million ($3.3 million).

As part of the modernization, the finishing center for the production of oil pipes of the company’s Pervouralsky Novotrubniy Plant will be equipped with facilities for crimping the ends of pipes and processing threaded joints and a shot blasting machine for cleaning the inner surface of the products. The program will be implemented by the end of the first quarter of 2018.

According to the company, the implementation of the investment project will allow it to improve its quality and increase the production of OCTG with premium joints.

ChTPZ Group has been supplying OCTG with premium joints since 2012. In 2016, its OCTG shipments increased by 10 percent year on year.
