German plantmaker SMS Meer has announced that it will supply a wire rod outlet for the special steel rolling mill of Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Shenyuan Special Steel.
The mill has an annual production capacity of more than 180,000 mt and rolls top-quality stainless steels and high-grade valve steels.
The new wire rod outlet will allow the production of diameters from 5.5 to 20 mm with a maximum capacity of 60 mt/hour and a maximum of 70 meters/second. The envisaged expansion of the mill to include steel bars in coil will cover a size range from 21 to 40 mm in diameter.
The Chinese steelmaker is planning to commission the new wire rod outlet in the fourth quarter of 2013.
