Chinese steel producers’ sales revenues down 18.8 percent in Q1

In March this year, the 96 medium-size and large steel producers in China achieved aggregate sales revenues of RMB 210.629 billion ($32.40 billion), with a total net profit of RMB 2.556 billion ($0.39 billion), which is their first aggregate net profit in any month since July 2015, according to the figures released by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

In the January-March period of the current year, the Chinese steel producers in question recorded aggregate sales revenues of RMB 570.655 billion ($87.79 billion), down 18.8 percent year on year, with a total net loss of RMB 8.98 billion ($1.38 billion).
