Chinese shipbuilding firms’ output value declines in January-July

In the January-July period this year, the 80 medium-size and large shipbuilding enterprises in China realized an aggregate gross industrial output value of RMB 225.8.0 billion ($33.8 billion), down 5.1 percent year on year, according to the figures released by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI).

In the given period, the shipbuilding enterprises in question achieved aggregate exports totaling RMB 85.5 billion ($12.8 billion) in value, down 10.0 percent year on year.

In the January-July period, the shipbuilding enterprises recorded an aggregate operating revenue of RMB 151 billion ($22.6 billion), down 9.0 percent, and a total gross profit of RMB 1.8 billion ($0.27 billion), decreasing by 28 percent, both year on year.
