China’s steel bar exports up 64.3 percent in June

In June this year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, wire rod and steel plate amounted to 3.50 million mt, 550,000 mt, 190,000 mt, and 3.62 million mt, up 64.3 percent, 31.9 percent, 4.3 percent, and 7.2 percent, respectively, year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities. In the first six months of the current year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, wire rod and steel plate amounted to 18.63 million mt, 2.77 million mt, 1.14 million mt, and 23.66 million mt, increasing by 51.7 percent, 11.9 percent, 14.6 percent and 21.7 percent, respectively, year on year.
 
As previously announced by the Chinese customs authorities, in June this year China exported 8.89 million mt of finished steel, up 25.7 percent year on year, while the finished steel export volume in the January-June period of the current year totaled 52.40 million mt, rising by 27.8 percent year on year.
