China’s steel bar exports increase by 71.4 percent in July

In July this year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, wire rod and steel plate amounted to 4.26 million mt, 550,000 mt, 210,000 mt, and 3.73 million mt, up 71.4 percent, 37 percent, 3.9 percent, and decreasing by 5.0 percent, respectively, year on year, as announced by China’s customs authorities. 

In the January-July period of current year, China’s export volumes of steel bars, angles/channels, wire rod and steel plate totaled 22.89 million mt, 3.32 million mt, 1.35 million mt, and 27.39 million mt, increasing by 55 percent, 15.4 percent, 12.8 percent and 17.2 percent, respectively, year on year.

In July this year, China exported 9.73 million mt of finished steel, up 20.8 percent year on year, while the finished steel export volume in the January-July period of the current year totaled 62.13 million mt, up 26.6 percent year on year, as previously announced by the Chinese customs authorities.
