China’s NDRC approves four major airport projects

On June 10, China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) announced its approval of four major airport projects in the provinces of Xinjiang (in the cities of Shache and Ruoqiang), Heilongjiang and Hainan, with total respective investments of around RMB 548 million ($88.4 million), RMB 558 million ($90 million), RMB 691 million ($111.5 million) and RMB 14.468 billion ($2.3 billion).

The projects in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are for the Shache and Ruoqiang airports, while the project in Heilongjiang is for an airport in the city of Wudalianchi, with the project in Hainan for the second-phase expansion of Haikou Meilan International airport.
