China’s hot rolled steel sheet output up 18 percent in May

In May this year, China's outputs of hot rolled steel sheet, hot rolled medium-thick wide steel strip and hot rolled thin wide steel strip amounted to 0.668 million mt, 10.419 million mt and 4.351 million mt, increasing by 18.0 percent, 1.4 percent and 6.7 percent year on year, respectively, according to China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In the January-May period of the year, China's outputs of hot rolled steel sheet, hot rolled medium-thick wide steel strip and hot rolled thin wide steel strip totaled 3.249 million mt, 51.342 million mt and 22.491 million mt, increasing by 8.3 percent, 2.8 percent, and 6.5 percent year on year, respectively.
