China’s crude steel output down two percent in January-August

In August this year, China’s pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs amounted to 57.61 million mt, 66.94 million mt and 94.49 million mt, down 5.1 percent, decreasing by 3.5 percent and increasing by 0.4 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on September 13.
 
In the January-August period of the current year, China’s pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs totaled 471.16 million mt, 543.02 million mt and 745.45 million mt, down 3.2 percent, decreasing by two percent and rising by 1.5 percent year on year, respectively.
