China’s coking coal exports up 16 percent in H1

In June this year, China exported 470,000 mt of coal, up 17.4 percent year on year, while China’s exports of anthracite coal and coking coal amounted to 160,000 mt and 90,000 mt, respectively, up 4.1 percent and down 28.9 percent year on year, according to the monthly import and export data issued by Chinese customs authorities.

In the January-June period this year, China’s coal exports totaled 2.34 million mt, down 25.9 percent year on year. In particular, in the January-June period this year China’s exports of anthracite coal and coking coal totaled 1.13 million mt and 510,000 mt, respectively, down 8.0 percent and up 16.0 percent on year-on-year basis.
