China’s value-added industrial output up 6.2% in January-April

In April this year, China's overall value-added industrial output increased by 5.9 percent year on year, with this growth rate 0.3 percentage points higher than that recorded in March, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on May 13. Meanwhile, in the January-April period of this year, China's overall value-added industrial output increased by 6.2 percent year on year.

In the January-April period, of the 41 industrial sectors in China, 38 witnessed year-on-year increases in value-added industrial output. In the given period, respective year-on-year increases of 6.1 percent, 2.6 percent, 5.0 percent, 9.2 percent and 6.5 percent were recorded in value-added industrial outputs in the ferrous metal smelting and rolling sector, the general purpose machinery sector, the automotive sector, the railway, shipping, aerospace and other transportation equipment manufacturing sector, and the electrical equipment and machinery sector.
